Raven's Home made its big debut on Disney Channel on July 21 right after the premiere of Descendants 2 and if you tuned in, then you know how hilarious the first episode was. Even though Raven and Chelsea are now all grown up, they can still bring all the laughs, especially with their new families. The best part of the episode was the fact that both Raven and Chelsea openly discussed how they have failed marriages and to help save money, that's why they now live together with their kids. Chelsea's husband actually was arrested for tax fraud and ending up falling in love with the federal agent who arrested him, which is kind of the dramatic situation that would happen to her! Raven as we already know was married to Devon, who she dated in That's So Raven.

So what happened to them? Why didn't it all work out? Well, Raven-Symoné herself spoke to Seventeen about it and revealed that having the characters ending up together and then splitting up was actually something she really advocated for since she wanted to portray a different type of family on her show.

"They were high school sweethearts, but things change. People marry their high school sweethearts and then they grow up and things change and they get divorced and things are good because there's still friendship there," Raven said. "There are so many types of divorces portrayed on TV but we wanted to go the route of you can have a happy divorce. We're friends! He’s a very involved dad, and we get along. I’m sure we’ve had our issues in the past but for the kids, our issues are in the past."

So while it's a bit of a bummer for OG fans to know the couple didn't last, it's really amazing to see that Raven is all about highlighting a family unit that isn't commonly seen, and yet so many people can relate to. Plus, this logic does make perfect sense and is rather realistic. Since Devon and Ray are still cool and they do have two children together though, we will be seeing Devon on the show too, at least in one episode. Proof:

Raven admits she was all about bringing back her character's old flame as the man who she ended up marrying and even though they're not together anymore, she's really looking forward to seeing how fans react to their relationship now that they're adults.

"I was a part of that decision to have Devon as Raven's ex-husband. Everyone was torn with the decision — who should it be? I’ve always found Raven’s relationship with Devon interesting. And like, how about a little bit of nostalgia? There’s still a good relationship there. There's friendship. It didn’t work romantically. Hopefully fans of raven will enjoy just as much as I enjoy playing it," Raven said.

We're ready for it. And besides, we might not have seen their actual wedding play out, but we'll always have that time Raven crashed Devon's dad's wedding to look back on.
