Selena Gomez made waves after one of her Instagram photos went viral and took the top spot for the most likes anyone has ever gotten on the platform. That is like, literally, goals. But, we digress.
Selena actually beat out Kendall Jenner who was holding the crown previously. The photo of Sel sipping on a Coke with her hair blown out and makeup done – you know, exactly how we all look when drinking soda – has become sort of iconic.
With almost 7 million likes, she captioned the shot back in June of 2016 and said, "when your lyrics are on the bottle 😛 #ad."
Now, the "Hands to Myself" singer isn't going to let anyone forget it. And in true Selena fashion, she's being super sneaky about the whole thing.
Yesterday, the music video for "Bad Liar" premiered and there was a subtle reference to Selena's Coke Instagram that almost everyone missed. It's quick, it's short and the bottle isn't even the same color in the video as it is on social media. But, Selena snuck it in there and now we can't unsee it.
There it is! The iconic Coke bottle. Of course, this shot isn't as glamorous and only gets screen time for a couple of seconds but it's clear that Selena is trying to reference that Instagram fame. Although some could argue that this is just product placement at its finest, we beg to differ. Selena does everything for a reason and there's no way that this was just randomly placed here or placed here because it needed to be.
It isn't even the only hidden message in the video. Sel's best friend Taylor Swift makes an apparent cameo, too! When Selena is in her bedroom in the video, a poster in the background bears a strong resemblance to T. Swift.
Coincidence? We think not.
