If there’s one thing that’s awkward for tons of celebrities, it’s being confused for one star in public. Having your social media account mistaken for a fan account of a relationship for two stars, now that’s a whole level of awkward that actress Camila Mendes deals with on a daily basis.

Fans already know that the Riverdale star spells her first name the exact same way as singer Camila Cabello, and her last-name is identical to that of Shawn Mendes. Obviously both the "Havana" and "Treat You Better" singers have worked together in the past, and have become pretty close friends. It's because of their adorable friendship and the way they've interacted together in the past, that fans have jumped on the bandwagon of shipping them as a couple.

Turns out all that shipping has caused a whole lot of problem for Cami Mendes. The actress recently appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden where she explained that fans of the “I Know What You Did Last Summer” singers constantly mistake her Twitter account for a verified account of Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s relationship. Talk about weird.

Obviously her name has nothing to do with either Shawn or Camila, and she wants everyone to know just that. During her interview, the actress who plays Veronica Lodge revealed that both her first and last names are actually very common in her parent’s home country of Brazil. It just so happens to be a weird coincidence that her name is a combination of the first and last names of two of the biggest singers in the world at the moment. Aside from that tidbit, she actually had no idea social media account shipping certain stars together was a thing.

So there you have it. Camila Mendes is issuing a PSA to all of Twitter: she’d like to stop being confused for a verified Shawn and Camila Cabello account. Sounds like a pretty fair plea to us.
