Shawn Mendes might only be 19 years old but he's literally out here breaking musical records left and right. Shawn has just achieved a major accomplishment he should be nothing but proud of. Billboard is reporting that for the first time in the charts 56 years-long history, Shawn is the first artist to have three songs reach number one on the Adult Contemporary charts before he's reached the age of 20.

"There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back," "Treat You Better," and "Stitches" are the jams that went to the top of the charts and since he's still a teenager, well this is something no one else has done. The other two stars who came close were Taylor Swift, who is a friend of Shawn's he opened up for on her 1989 Tour and the legendary Mariah Carey. Both women ended up getting that third number one song at ages 20 and 20 respectively. So Shawn just went ahead and changed the music game with this massive record he just set and it proves that yes, he's here to stay and keep slaying the charts.

The 'Mercy" singer is no stranger to breaking records though. In 2015 with the release of his debut album Handwritten, it took skyrocketed to the number one spot on the top 200 album charts, making him the youngest artist in five years to have his album reach the top spot. The last young singer to do that was the one and only Justin Bieber, with the release of his album My World 2.0. Both guys who happen to be Canadian and have a rather interesting friendship, to say the least, were just 16-years-old when they both had their records sit pretty up in the number one slot. So when will Shawn's third album be coming? Well, he hasn't set any sort of timeline but he is hard at work creating new tunes for everyone to obsess over.

So time to prepare yourself for all the amazing music that's to come from the guy who just keeps getting better and better.
