Was the butt touched or was it not touched? Butt-gate is in full freaking swing, YOU GUYS.
Back in March, Shawn Mendes was minding his own business doing an interview on the red carpet at the iHeartRadio Music Awards. Katy Perry walked by and allegedly touched his butt. Things got super awkward, Shawn got super uncomfortable and literally admitted that he didn't even know her. Shawn got so flustered that he lost track of what was going on in the actual interview.
Now, he's saying it never happened.
Wait…what? Yeah, if you're confused, we were too. Let's take a look back at the footage.

He said, "Someone was just touching my butt. Sorry. Oh, it was Katy Perry who was touching my butt. I should have turned around. Sorry, I'm just stunned. I've never met her before."
The interviews try to make a joke out of the whole thing and said, "What if you grabbed her butt back?"
Shawn replied, "No, I cannot do that. That's not good. That's not a game."
Okay, so it clearly happened. SOMETHING happened. Whether or not it was actually Katy, I guess is still in question because everything happened so fast that the camera didn't get a clear shot of her face. But, someone WAS touching Shawn's butt – he said it himself! Now, in a new Bizarre Life interview Dan Wooten, Shawn is claiming the whole thing isn't true.
When Dan references the butt incident, Shawn says, "I don’t think it’s actually true. That’s what I was told. But actually then I saw her later that night and she told me it wasn’t true…So I’m sorry for all of those rumors, Katy."
Shawn even went so far to say that it was "extremely disappointing" to hear that Katy didn't actually touch his butt. The situation is utterly confusing considering how awkward things got. Maybe Katy was just joking about it not being true? Maybe Shawn is trying to cover up for her? Maybe Katy actually didn't touch his butt. One thing did happen, though. SOMEONE touched Shawn's butt and after he has now wiped Katy's name somewhat clean – the Internet is going to be determined to find out who did!
