J-14 Decorate took over Disney Channel star Jenna Ortega's childhood bedroom and gave it a whole new look.
“I was shocked when I first walked in after the makeover,” the Stuck in the Middle star reveals. “It looked totally different, but I fell in love with it immediately!”
With the help of Cricut, everyone’s favorite cutting machine, Hayneedle.com, an online décor retailer, and designer Heidi Moore, of idiehdesign.com, J-14 Decorate gave the bedroom Jenna shares with her younger sister, Aliyah, a more mature style with lots of custom touches.
“Before the makeover, I was a little nervous to be honest. I wasn’t sure new furniture would fit in the space or how the design would turn out, but I was amazed when I saw the room! Me and my sister love it so much!”
The team invaded her space one weekend and gave the room a total transformation — new paint, new furniture, a new color palette and new organization, too! First, they painted the previously blue and yellow walls with a cool white paint from Lowe’s called Valspar Blizzard Fog.
“It’s really bright and clean looking,” Jenna says, “and it makes the room look more grown up — which is exactly what we wanted!” Then, they added tons of personal touches to the new furniture using the Cricut cutting machine. “The room has so much more personality now!” Jenna dishes.
Now that they’re settled into their redesigned room, the girls love drawing, talking on the phone and doing their homework there. They did fight over the beds at first though!
“Aliyah wanted the one by the wall because it has better wifi,” Jenna tells us.
“I’m not home during the week so I let her have it.” Aw, what a great big sis!
