Today is Taylor Swift's 28th birthday. Yes, it was on December 13, 1989, Taylor Alison Swift was born into the world and it was at 16 years old she started to really take the music world by storm. Life really hasn't been the same since Taylor dropped her first album back in 2006. She's given us six albums (plus a Christmas record too) and a lifetime of lyrics we'll always be able to recite and melodies we won't ever be able to get out of our heads.

In honor of Taylor's day of birth, we just had to take a listen to every single one of her songs yet again. Yes, we have a playlist, OK? And honestly, just take a moment to truly admire her work as a songwriter. She will always be the girl with her guitar writing songs in her room to many of us and she's given her fans songs that have become a major part of the soundtrack of their lives over the years. Taylor co-writes all of her songs/is the only writer on some tracks and let us never forget how she wrote the entirety of her Speak Now album all on her own, without anyone else. Legendary. So since people like to often talk about many of the other fascinating aspects of Taylor's life, we're going to present to you what it's all about: the music. And here are just a few of her best lyrics. Like ever. In no particular order since they're all just too good.

"All Too Well"

The lyrics: "You call me up again just to break me like a promise
So casually cruel in the name of being honest
I'm a crumpled up piece of paper lying here
'Cause I remember it all, all, all too well"

This song goes down in T. Swift history as her masterpiece and it's easy to see why. We'll just be here in a puddle of tears now.

"White Horse"

The lyrics: "This is a big world, that was a small town
There in my rearview mirror disappearing now
And it's too late for you and your white horse
Now it's too late for you and your white horse, to catch me now"

This overall arch of this song and the story it tells will always be one that brings on all the emotions.

"Ours"

The lyrics: "So don't you worry your pretty little mind
People throw rocks at things that shine
And life makes love look hard"

The happiest lil love song that you can't but smile along to as you listen to it.

"New Year's Day"

The lyrics: "Hold on to the memories, they will hold on to you
And I will hold on to you
Please don't ever become a stranger
Whose laugh I could recognize anywhere"

Is this not the realest set of words you've ever seen? Literally speaking to everyone's soul.

"State of Grace"

The lyrics: "So you were never a saint
And I've loved in shades of wrong
We learn to live with the pain
Mosaic broken hearts”

The color metaphors were a constant theme on her "Red" album and the concept of a mosaic broken heart is everything. All of our hearts are like this when you think about it, bits and pieces from different loves we've had in our lives forming together to make up your whole heart. Genius.

"Tell Me Why"

The lyrics: "You tell me that you want me, then push me around
And I need you like a heartbeat
But you know you got a mean streak
Makes me run for cover when you're around"

A reminder you don’t need someone who causes you any sort of pain in your life. You’re better off without them.

"Long Live"

The lyrics: "May these memories break our fall"

This whole song is special because Taylor wrote it about her relationship with her band and her fans and while there are so many stand-out lyrics and whole verses in this track, this one line is the memorable one. Applies to everyone's life in one way or another.

"You Are In Love"

The lyrics: "You two are dancing in a snow globe 'round and 'round
And he keeps a picture of you in his office downtown
And you understand now why they lost their minds and fought the wars
And why I spent my whole life trying to put it into words"

The perfect embodiment of love and how it really is the root of everything.

"King of My Heart"

The lyrics: "Is the end of all the endings?
My broken bones are mending"

The imagery is just too good not to acknowledge.

"Haunted"

The lyrics: "You and I walk a fragile line
I have known it all this time
But I never thought I'd live to see it break
It's getting dark and it's all too quiet
And I can't trust anything now
And it's coming over you like it's all a big mistake"

You can literally feel the intensity Taylor is giving us.

"Ronan"

The lyrics: "What if I'm standing in your closet trying to talk to you?
What if I kept the hand-me-downs you won't grow into?
And what if I really thought some miracle would see us through?
What if the miracle was even getting one moment with you?"

Easily her most heartbreaking song of all time, since it's about a four-year-old boy named Ronan Thompson who passed away from neuroblastoma. Taylor used the words she read in his mom's blog to create the song and listed his mom, Maya Thompson, as her co-songwriter.

"Cold As You"

The lyrics: "Oh, what a shame
What a rainy ending given to a perfect day
Oh, every smile you fake is so condescending
Countin' all the scars you've made"

We've all encountered someone like this before. Never easy, but must commend how Taylor has a way of expressing such universal feelings.

"Last Kiss"

The lyrics: "You can plan for a change in weather and time
But I never planned on you changing your mind"

Another song you just need to sit and cry to every now and then.

"Blank Space"

The lyrics: "It'll leave you breathless
Or with a nasty scar"

A metaphor for love that is all too true and these perfectly sum up the epicness of this song.

"Getaway Car"

The lyrics: "It was the best of times, the worst of crimes
I struck a match and blew your mind
But I didn't mean it
And you didn’t see it
The ties were black, the lies were white"

You know you're in for one amazing story when a song starts like that.

"I Knew You Were Trouble"

The lyrics: "And the saddest fear comes creeping in
That you never loved me or her, or anyone, or anything"

The hardest realization brought to us in a defining song in Taylor's career.

"Clean"

The lyrics: "Rain came pouring down when I was drowning
That's when I could finally breathe"

You sure do have to endure some pain in order to get on the other side, free of it all and Taylor knows all about that. So, long live queen Taylor. And thanks for sharing your songs with us, girl.
