In just a matter of hours, Taylor Swift rocked the Internet and the world with the release of her new single “Look What You Made Me Do” following the announcement that her new album, Reputation, will be released on November 10th.

Since releasing the song, fans across social media have been trying to figure out who the song could be about. Does it have something to do with Katy Perry or maybe her on-going feud with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian? Taylor has had an endless amount of drama with the rapper that has only escalated since the release of the song “Famous,” in which he used a derogatory word to talk about the “Shake It Off” singer. Everything was also kicked up a notch after Kim leaked a recording of the two musicians discussing the song on Snapchat.

Apart from trying to get the answers to any and all hidden messages within the song, many fans have made yet another shocking connection that only added to the Kanye/Taylor drama. It appears that Reputation’s release date falls on the 10th anniversary of the passing of Kanye West’s mother, Donda West. Many on social media were quick to attack the “Blank Space” singer for being so cold after connecting the dates. Some even went as far as accusing of her doing this as a way to get back at the rapper, while others jumped to the “Bad Blood” singer’s defense.

It all got so heated that Taylor’s label, Big Machine had to release an official statement about the incident. They cleared the air by stating, “It is standard practice that releases come out on Fridays and we locked in this release date based on other Universal Music Group releases. There is no correlation.”

There you have it! It also appears that Kim and Kanye haven’t been bothered by any of this either, because they definitely would’ve spoken out about it on social media. Maybe this is just an incident where social media got a little carried away, because both artists are probably so over having every little thing they do be associated with some drama they may want to forget.
