Taylor Swift's close friend Lena Dunham isn't happy about Justin Bieber's new song, "What Do You Mean?" The actor, writer, and director threw shade at his latest single, particularly the lyrics, "What do you mean/When you nod your head 'yes'/But you wanna say 'no'?"

Let's do away with pop songs where a girl nods yes when she means no and vice versa, k?
While he's said that the song is about being confused in a relationship, the Girls creator is just bringing up a lot of valid issues about asking for enthusiastic consent. If someone is telling you yes, but you can tell that they don't want to do something, that's not cool. No peer pressure!
In his music video, the singer tries to rectify the problem by showing himself stopping in the middle of their make-out when his co-star Xenia Deli gets uncomfortable and pushes him away.
Of course, not everyone who is hearing this song on the radio will be watching the video, but Justin is checking in on his partner and asking for clarification — which is really important. It's a pretty touchy subject (and it's hard to tell if the couple resumes making out because she feels guilty), so we're interested in listening to what the singer has to say about the criticism.
Do you think that Justin will respond to the criticism? Let us know in the comments!
