Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles' friendship has been one that One Direction fans have a lot of ~feelings~ about. Their bromance was unlike any other, with fans dubbing the duo as Larry Stylinson. They clearly always got along so well and were truly BFF, especially in the early 1D days but some fans literally wanted to believe that the pair was actually secretly in love. Well, one-half of the pair has set the record straight once and for all. Yep, Louis himself was flat out asked by The Sun's Dan Wootton during Dan's The Big Biz Quiz to share his thoughts on the Larry conspiracy theory.

And let's just say shippers, prepare for your heart to break a little bit.

"I've never actually been asked about it directly, it's a funny thing. People can believe what they want to believe but I just think it comes across sometimes a little bit disrespectful to the ones that I love, [like] Eleanor," Louis said. "It's like anything. You can genuinely Google a conspiracy on iPhones, right, you're going to get a conspiracy. So I think it's one of these things that people just love to buy into but in reality, obviously, there's no truth to it. Obviously. It kind of happened naturally for me and Harry because a certain amount of the fans drew up this conspiracy. When it first came around I was with Eleanor, and it actually felt a little bit disrespectful to Eleanor, who is my girlfriend now. I’m so protective over things like that, about the people I love. So it created this atmosphere between the two of us where everyone was looking into everything we did. It took away the vibe you get off anyone. It made everything, I think on both fences, a little bit more unapproachable. I think it shows that it was never anything real, if I can use that word," he continued.

There we have it, once and for all. Larry is and was never real, coming from Louis himself. If anything, all the rumors put a strain on their once close friendship and the "Back to You" singer admits he and Harry don't have as close of a friendship today that he has with his other bandmates. They are still friends of course, just not as close as they once were.

"There’s no politics or anything. Inevitably in a band, you’re going to get some people who get on really well and some people who get on quite well," Louis said. "I have forever had a very, very high level of respect for Harry. He’s great in this situation, he’s great on stage, he’s a great musician and artist. It’s just one of those things that happens naturally in a band."

This isn't the first time a 1D member has spoken about these rumors though. Liam Payne once addressed it in an interview he did with Attitude Magazine in 2015 and he wasn't as calm about it as Louis was.

"People think of the Louis and Harry thing, which is absolutely nuts and drives me insane. It's like when you know the ins and outs of what is going on with people it's so annoying when it's so stupid. It becomes like a conspiracy or a cult, the people who watch them and think that every move they make is a gesture toward them being together, and I know it's not true and it makes me mad. It's so funny to be on the inside of it because you know what's what and then you hear all these crazy theories," Liam said.

And recently back in May of 2017 when Liam was doing a fan Q & A at radio station KDWB 101.3, he was asked if Larry is real yet again. This time around, he added a bit of humor to his answer but got straight to the point.

"This could cause like Global World War III! But I I have to say something. No, Larry's not real," Liam said.

Another flat-out denial. While Harry hasn't really said much about the matter, he along with Liam and Niall Horan once sat down for an interview with the Austrailian morning show Sunrise back in 2013 and the interviewer showed the guys supposed photos of Harry and Louis sharing a smooch. These weren't real pics though, with Harry quickly saying it was all Photoshop and Liam chimed in saying someone has edited pics like this of him and Niall too. She then asked Harry, "So you and Louis, there's nothing going on?" And he simply replied, "No."

Well, it doesn't look like there was ever any truth to the Larry theories. But at least we'll always have this tweet, right?
