Yesterday Directioners were in an uproar about a documentary that appeared on Channel 4 in the UK called Crazy About One Direction that featured fans so obsessed with One Direction that they would literally do anything just to get a look at their favorite guys. The only problem is the documentary actually made them look crazy.
The second it started airing, fans of the guys on Twitter started speaking out, completely embarrassed of what they were seeing. One very popular fan account, @1DAlert, tweeted that they've "never been so embarrassed" and made sure to get out the word that 1D fans aren't really like that.

Other fans were even tweeting about sending death threats to the station that was airing the documentary because of how bad it was making the fandom look. From the documentary showing girls sending death threats to Taylor Swift, getting braces just because Niall Horan has them, and even threatening to harm themselves just to get a simple tweet from Harry Styles, they didn't want the world to think all fans were obsessed in a bad way.
Even Liam Payne spoke out about the documentary, easing his fans' minds. At first he seemed worried about what fans were doing behind the scenes, but then he realized the show probably wasn't being 100% honest and told his fans they "should be proud."
