This may be hard to believe, but it’s been more than 10 years since True Jackson, VP came to an end! The Nickelodeon show first premiered on November 8, 2008, and aired its series finale on August 20, 2011, after three seasons and 60 episodes.
The fan-favorite series starred Keke Palmer, Ashley Argota, Robbie Amell and Matt Shively. It followed the story of True Jackson, an aspiring stylist who gets hired by a huge fashion mogul named Max Madigan to run the company’s youth apparel division. Along the way, True and her two besties get mixed up in some pretty sticky situations and, of course, there’s a pretty romantic love story involved!
Ever since the show ended, fans have hoped for a comeback. It wasn’t until April 2020 when their dreams started to become a reality. At the time, Keke herself took to Twitter and teased a reboot. “When they canceled True Jackson, VP prematurely just to reboot it in 2021,” she captioned the video of her dancing to the theme song.
Since then, she’s spilled some major tea about whether not Nickelodeon fans can really expect the iconic show to come back.
“I promise you guys, I’m, literally, not going to let you guys down with that,” the actress teased during an April 2021 appearance on the “Chicks in the Office” podcast. “I’ve been working so hard to figure something out for True Jackson, VP because, it’s crazy. I knew how much True Jackson, VP impacted me, but I’ve learned as I’ve grown that it really impacted the generation [of viewers]. It means so much to me that it did in that way. I’m so grateful. If True Jackson, VP does come back, which it’s a pretty good chance we get something up with that character and that story line, I would make sure that it’s mature.”
She continued, “I would really want it to be, like what’s True’s life like? How is she dealing with being in this industry? How is she affected by social media? … What’s her life become?”
Other than what the character True has been up to, what have the cast members been doing since the show ended? Well, some of the stars continued to act and went on to land a ton of major roles, while others disappeared from Hollywood altogether and started families of their own!
