Before Logan Paul caused one of the biggest shocks in YouTube history after uploading an extremely inappropriate, controversial video, he was actually pretty busy building his movie and television career. He had starred in the YouTube Red movie The Thinning, along with Peyton List, Calum Worthy and Lia Marie Johnson. The sci-fi thriller was set in a dystopian future in where in order to control population, students from first grade until twelfth grade have to take a standardized test and those who fail, are killed. Pretty intense, right? Logan played the character of Blake, the governor of Texas' son who along with Peyton's character Laina, discover that these tests are actually rigged.
Spoiler alert: At the end of the movie, Blake discovers he actually failed the test, but was only believed to have passed it since he was the son of someone powerful. When the real test results are revealed, he is sent to the thinning, to be killed but as he wakes up, he's reunited with his girlfriend he thought was killed a year earlier Ellie. He finds out the students they all thought were "thinned" are actually still alive, just underground away from the rest of the world working for the company responsible for all this. So yes, a major cliffhanger which made sense that a sequel, The Thinning: New World Order was in the works.
Logan, along with Peyton, Calum, Lia and Riverdale's Charles Melton began filming the movie in November of 2017, which Peyton posted about on her Instagram.
And by December 2017, the film had wrapped filming, with the director/writer taking to Twitter to share some behind-the-scenes photos.

But now everyone is left wondering, what exactly is going on with this movie? In the wake of Logan's horrid video, a YouTube spokesperson released a statement letting fans know that all if his original projects are on hold.
"In light of recent events, we have decided to remove Logan Paul’s channels from Google Preferred. Additionally, we will not feature Logan in season four of Foursome, and his new Originals are on hold," she said.
The Thinning sequel was expected to be released on YouTube Red later this year but now, the fate of The Thinning: New World Order seems to be up in the air. No one knows for sure if and when it will ever be available to watch on the streaming service, which truly is a bummer for fans of the first movie and for the other actors who are in the film. Logan is the main character though and perhaps because of his actions, everyone may have to suffer now. We'll just have to wait and see.
