It seems like we saw a lot of Niall Horan at the end of 2017 and then he just up and vanished. No really, it's almost February and I feel like I haven't heard any news from my blonde Irish beauty babe since the dawn of time. It's like he was doing all this promo for his solo album that dropped at the end of October and then he went on to do the Flicker Sessions and then ended the year by playing a few songs on the Jingle Ball Tour. He was alongside his pals Ed Sheeran and Liam Payne, which made fans super happy including myself. We got small glimpses of what their real friendship is like with video game snaps and stories about major beer spillage on their tour bus. But, then Nialler faded into the abyss over the holidays.
He had said that the plan was to go back to Ireland for Christmas. Talking about his holiday vacation, Niall revealed, "I’ll probably sleep for a few weeks. I’m a little bit jet-lagged. It’s kind of a sin not to go home for Christmas. I tried to get the parents to come to London for Christmas this year. They were like, ‘No, you can’t.'" But, ever since then, he's been totally MIA and I wasn't loving it.
It seems like every day I would search his name, scouring the Internet, hoping that he would have done something or would have been somewhere. Finally, my Google prayers were answered. The "Slow Hands" singer started the year by watching Stranger Things because obviously everyone is obsessed with the show. He tweeted, "Finished Stranger things this evening . Never thought I would be this obsessed by a show ."
Following Niall's binge watch sesh, proving once and for all that he is exactly like us, the singer was seen sitting front row for the Paul Smith fall/winter show at Paris Fashion Week a couple weeks later. He looked dapper AF and even gifted his fans with a cute Instagram video – think chic ~fashun~ mixed with awkward dance moves paired with a lightsaber mega tunnel. He captioned, "@paulsmith @paulsmithdesign Paris ."
CUTIE!!! He looks so happy and well rested. If Niall needs some family time every once and awhile to come back looking like this, then we're totally for it. But, Paris was the only place he has been. In fact, Niall has become a bit of a jet-setter during this break from the music industry. He has actually been back into the swing of things, and by the swing of things, I mean his golf game. The former One Direction superstar was seen in Dubai for the Omega Dubai Desert Classic. He was actually able to play alongside his buddy Rory McIlroy for a pre-tournament event at Emirates Golf Club. For anyone who isn't an avid golf fan, Rory is HUGE in that world and a super talented player.
Niall even got a chance to interview Rory, which probably is not something he's used to being on the other side of the microphone. But, he actually did a pretty fantastic freaking job and I can kind of see him taking up a job in the journalism field. If he needs anything at all, like really anything, I know someone who could teach him the ropes. (Go ahead and @ me Niall.)
As for the next place Niall might show up, we're totally not sure. But, we know 2018 is going to be a big year for him musically. He's going to go on his world tour as well as begin to write songs for his second solo album. There are currently no plans to reunite with One Direction in the next 12 months. But, he's got a lot planned and we're hoping that he gets his face back into the mainstream media sooner rather than later. Keeping up with Niall Horan is harder than I thought it would ever be.
