2017 Grammy PredictionsWho Will Be the Major Winners at This Year’s Grammys?

The 59th Annual Grammy Awards will happen this week and fans and artists are already anxious to see who will win big at this year's ceremony. While major artists like Beyoncé and Adele are expected to take home several awards, others like Justin Bieber and Chance The Rapper are also being eyed as possible winners in their various categories.

Justin, who has four Grammy nominations, will not be in attendance during Sunday's ceremony because, according to TMZ, he "doesn't think the Grammys are relevant or representative, especially when it comes to young singers." Others like Kanye West and Drake have already said they are not attending — so will this hurt their chances of winning?

We've compiled our list of predictions based on past years, album sales, and radio play to guess who might be going home with trophies and who will go home empty-handed.

The Song of the Year category is one that is dedicated to honoring the songwriters. In this case, "Love Yourself" was written by Ed Sheeran, Benny Blanco, and Justin Bieber and it could easily take home the award. The song's lyrics like "My momma don't like and she likes everyone," were quoted incessantly throughout this past year, so it would make total sense to see the Canadian singer take it home. Would he announcing that he won't be in attendance at the show affect his chances of winning in such huge categories? Perhaps, but we are sure the academy would give the winners what they deserve regardless if they are there or not.

Ariana Grande has had one heck of a year with her album Dangerous Woman. While the singer is known worldwide for her incredible vocal range, she has never won a Grammy before in her career. She has been nominated in previous years for her album My Everything and her collaboration "Bang Bang", so it would be great to see her get recognized. Will she be able to beat the musical queens Adele and Beyonce? We will have to wait and see!

Though Kelsea Ballerini is a fan favorite among our readers, there is no denying that the recording academy has made some major changes to its rules in order to accommodate Best New Artist nominee, Chance The Rapper. The Chicago native not only has singlehandedly changed the Grammys forever, with his project Coloring Book being the first mixtape ever to be nominated, being the first independent rapper to perform at the award show, and even being the inspiration behind a new rule that makes projects on Soundcloud eligible for submission for future Grammys. The rapper has seven nominations this year, and even though he already has three mixtapes under his belt, Chance is for sure taking home the one for Best New Artist.

Twenty One Pilots, "Stressed Out"

"Work" stayed on top of the charts for weeks on end, was on constant replay on the radio, and still people did not get sick of it. Drake and Rihanna's collaborations are often guaranteed to make a hit, and the song was the most successful in sales and streams of the year. While the ex-couple has gone their separate ways, it would be remarkable to see them both go up on stage even if the rapper has announced he will not be in attendance. "Hello" and "Formation" also had huge years, so it could be anyone's game, but our money is ~still~ on Aubrih.

While many think Adele is going to sweep every award at the Grammys, here we like to do things a little different. Her song "Hello" exploded into airways once it was released, and her album 25 broke records worldwide, so it is safe to say she will be going home with several awards, especially in the pop solo performance category because of her unmatchable voice.

Even though J-14's Editors named "Closer" one of the songs they were sick of hearing in 2016, the song was everywhere last year becoming a huge hit for The Chainsmoskers and Halsey. The song is also up against another huge hit "Work" by Rihanna and Drake, which is one of the most successful songs of last year so it might be a close tie but "Closer" might just come out on top for this category.

Drake is going to be on the European leg of his world tour during the award ceremony, but this might not stop him from winning in the rap category for best album. Views was one of the strongest albums last year in terms of sales, and the rapper had hits like "Hotline Bling," "One Dance" and "Controlla," so it would be no surprise to see the Canadian rapper walk away with the award.

As much as Justin Bieber's Purpose was one of the best albums last year, there is no doubt that Queen Beyoncé is going home with this Album of the Year award. The singer is no stranger to winning these awards, and though Adele is also stiff competition because of the number of albums she sold, Lemonade was loved by critics and named the best album of the year in various lists at the end of 2016. This will also be the first time Bey will be performing since announcing that she is expecting twins, so the academy has to reward her in some major way. Seeing Justin or Drake take home this award would surely be a great feeling for their fans, but we think it is the Beyhive who will be the ones jumping for joy.
