Today marks exactly 10 years since the Disney Channel original series Wizards of Waverly Place first premiered on the network, and we are over here getting hit with the strongest wave of nostalgia. The show kicked off on October 12, 2007, and it hasn't become any less legendary as time has passed, tbh. The rockstar cast included Selena Gomez, David Henrie, Jake T. Austin, Maria Canals-Barrera, David DeLuise, Jennifer Stone, Gregg Sulkin, Bridgit Mendler and Bailee Madison – and we couldn't imagine the show without a single one of their iconic roles. Since the show, the cast has definitely moved on – but a lot of them have stayed in touch over the years. Between acting, singing and going to college – the cast of Wizards of Waverly Place has done a lot since the show wrapped for good in 2012. Not to mention, it's still the longest running Disney Channel show of all time, as no other series had more episodes than they did. Check out what the cast has been up to since then!
Selena Gomez played Alex Russo
Wizards of Waverly place was truly just the beginning for Selena's acting and music career. After the show, the actress starred in multiple more films including Spring Breakers, Rudderless and Getaway. She has also has lent her voice to the animated movies Hotel Transylvania, Hotel Transylvania 2 and the upcoming third film as well. Selena even added executive producer to her long list of accomplishments with the hit Netflix drama 13 Reasons Why, which she helped create alongside her mother Mandy Teefey.
Selena's music career isn't slowing down one bit either. Her latest album Revival came out in 2015 and was followed by the "Revival Tour," which she had to cut short due to anxiety and depression. The star, who suffers from the autoimmune disease lupus, recently revealed that she had a kidney transplant – and one of her best friends Francia Raisa was the one to donate the organ. What a warrior!
Selena is currently head over heels with her boyfriend The Weeknd. From wearing each other's clothes to spending time with their families, they are clearly so in love.
David Henrie played Justin Russo
After his Disney Channel days, David Henrie continued to pursue acting. He starred in movies like Grown Ups 2 , Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2, Little Boy and Walt Before Mickey. But that's not all – he also wrote, directed a produced a film titled Catch, which was nominated for "Best Live Action Short Film" at the Cleveland International Film Festival. Go David!
David experienced a huge life milestone recently – he got married! Best part? The whole Wizards crew was there to experience his special day.
David DeLuise played Jerry Russo
The list of shows and movies David has starred in after Wizards is crazy long. Some of them include The Father and the Bear, A Woman Deceived and Sweet Sweet Summertime . Just like his TV wife Maria, he is also starring in a movie alongside another former Disney darling. He'll be playing Thomas Landry in A World Away, starring Rowan Blanchard.
Oh, and if you're wondering – he definitely approves of Selena and the Weeknd's relationship. Hear that Sel? You have your TV dad's blessing. We just love that he's an Abelena shipper.
Gregg Sulkin played Mason Greyback
Gregg went from playing Alex's boyfriend on Wizards to Ezra Fitz's brother on Pretty Little Liars. He also starred in White Frog , Melissa & Joey, Another Me, and Faking It and Drink Slay Love. Currently, Gregg is busy playing Chase Stein in the TV series Runaways.
Gregg's love life has been in the spotlight as well. The actor was linked to Disney Channel alum Bella Thorne for a period of time, but they're just friends now.
Bridgit Mendler played Juliet Van Heusen
Once her run as Justin Russo's vampire bae came to a close, Bridgit starred in the Disney Channel original series Good Luck Charlie – ah, what a classic. Undateable and Nashville are just a couple of the shows the actress starred in after her Disney days came to an end.
Now let's talk music. Her studio album Hello My Name Is, which came out in 2012, was followed by two EP's – Live in London and, most recently, Nemesis. She's gone on tour on and off, all while managing to get her degree in anthropology at the University of Southern California.
Bailee Madison played Maxine Russo
You may know Bailee Madison as her current role of Grace Russell in the TV series Good Witch, but who could forget her time playing Maxine Russo on Wizards? The actress has not only grown up from being the little girl we knew from the show, but she has also really thrived in her acting career. Her shows and movies include R.L. Stine's The Haunting Hour, Pete's Christmas, Trophy Wife, Once Upon a Time, A Cowgirl's Story and many more. Oh, and how cool is it that she starred alongside Wizards alum Jake T. Austin in The Fosters? Things are always coming full circle!
Bailee is now dating Alex Lange, and they're basically the cutest couple ever – no really, they even won J-14's 2017 Hottest Couple of the Summer contest.
