It might be Selena Gomez's passion project and it might also be raising awareness for mental health and suicide but 13 Reasons Why is also Netflix's most popular series, ever. Fans are gravitating towards the groundbreaking show and it's not shocking.

13 Reasons Why was originally a young adult book written by Jay Asher in 2007. In 2011, it made the New York Times best seller list. The series, like the book, follows a group of peers who must deal with the aftermath of a student who kills herself. She leaves 13 tapes behind which are supposed for 13 people at the school who have played a part in her suicide.

Selena and her mom, Mandy Teefey, have been working on the casting and getting all of the details right for the series for years now. She told CNN, "I was very loyal to the project for 7 years. I got a little controlling. When we first started working on this, I told my mom that I'm definitely harder at being a producer. I was a little more defensive."

However, the nerves about doing this new project did play a role which might be why she was so defensive about the work. Selena continued, "You get nervous, you don't know if people are going to like something. People — no matter what age — you can relate to this story. Everyone has gone through this. And more than ever, this should be talked about today."

So, now that everyone has watched 13 Reasons Why, there are some crazy fan theories out there. No really, they are shocking and jaw dropping. We've compiled some of the most outrageous ones we could find and they will literally make the biggest fans' heads spin.
