The best of both worlds! Hannah Montana premiered in March 2006, and had a bunch of guest stars throughout its four seasons on the air.

Jesse McCartney, Corbin Bleu, Madison Pettis, the Jonas Brothers, Selena Gomez and more well-known names had appeared in minor roles on the Disney Channel show. Some even got their acting start thanks to the series.

The show starred Miley CyrusEmily OsmentMitchel MussoJason Earles and Moises Arias, among others, and followed the story of a teenager named Miley Stewart, who doubled as the popstar Hannah Montana. Despite the show’s worldwide success, Hannah Montana came to an end in January 2011. And there may not be anyone that misses the series more than Miley herself.

When celebrating the show’s 15-year premiere anniversary in March 2021, she penned a heartfelt letter to the character Hannah.

“It’s been a while. 15 years to be exact. Since the first time I slid those blonde bangs over my forehead in the best attempt to conceal my identity. Then slipped into a puke pink terry cloth robe with a bedazzled HM over the [heart]. I didn’t know then … that is where you would live forever. Not just in mine but millions of people around the world. Although you are considered to be an ‘alter ego,’ in reality there was a time in my life when you held more of my identity in your glovette than I did in my bare hands,” she wrote. “You were like a rocket that flew me to the moon and never brought me back down. … You and I have been through it all together, my friend. We’ve shared many firsts. A lot of lasts. Ups. Downs. Tears and laughs.”

Miley concluded her letter, writing, “Hannah, I hope you hear me and believe those words are true. You have all my love and upmost gratitude. Breathing life into you for those six years was an honor.”

She’s even teased a possible reunion throughout a few interviews since the show came to an end and has spoken at length about playing the role.

“I had to evolve because Hannah was larger than life, larger than me. I felt like I was never going to amount to the success of Hannah Montana,” she explained to Rolling Stone during a December 2020 interview. “Really, Hannah Montana was not a character. The concept of the show, it’s me. I’ve had to really come to terms with that and not be third-person about it.”
