The 2018 Video Music Awards are quickly approaching, and we could not be more excited for the star-studded event. Between the performers, nominees and everything in between, there’s a lot to know beforehand. That’s why we’re here to hit you with everything you need to know so you don’t miss a beat.

When are the 2018 VMAs and where can I watch it?

The award show airs live on Monday, Aug. 20, 2018 at 9:00 pm EST on MTV. The show will be taking place in New York City at Radio City Music Hall, the same venue the award show took place for much of the ’90s and early ’00s. In fact, the very first VMAs were held there in 1984. It’s good to be home.

Who is performing at the VMAs this year?

Get ready for Ariana Grande, Shawn Mendes and Logic (with Ryan Tedder) to take the stage at the award show. Does Ari’s performance mean she and her fiance Pete Davidson will make their red carpet debut as a couple since they got engaged in June? We’re seriously hoping. Also, it’ll be her first time singing “God Is a Woman” live from her upcoming album Sweetener. As for Shawn, he’ll be performing “In My Blood,” which fans are super stoked about. And of course, Logic and Ryan Tedder’s “One Day” is going to be a treat. There are also many more artists performing at the event that haven’t yet been announced.

Who is nominated for Video of the Year?

The nominees are as follows:

  • Ariana Grande for “No Tears Left to Cry””
  • Bruno Mars ft. Cardi B for “Finesse (Remix)”
  • Camila Cabello ft. Young Thug for “Havana”
  • The Carters for “APES**T”
  • Childish Gambino for “This Is America”
  • Drake for “God’s Plan”

How do I vote for the VMAs?

Who is the 2018 winner of the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award?

Jennifer Lopez is this year’s recipient of the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, and the iconic pop star is also nominated twice for her song “Dinero.” She will also be taking the stage to sing, and it’ll actually be her first time performing at the VMAs since 2001.

We can’t wait!
