Alexis Ren and Alan Bersten fell for each other on Dancing With The Stars, and watching their romance blossom throughout the show was honestly the cutest thing ever. But after the competition ended last month, we were all wondering if the couple would stay together or fizzle out. In the finale of the show, the pair dished about how excited they were to finally have some chill time together, but now, we’ve gotten an update from Alan and it doesn’t seem like things are going too well.

The 24-year-old spoke to Entertainment Tonight during the rehearsals for the upcoming Dancing With the Stars: Live! A Night to Remember Tour, while his beau was halfway across the world in Japan.

“You know, we’re still talking,” Alan told the outlet. “She’s in Japan right now and I’m about to go on tour, so we’ll see.”

Alan was joined by his co-stars, Witney Carson and Caleb Savchenko, for the interview, who pointed out that the time difference has made it really hard for the couple.

“The real world sucks,” Alan added. Uh oh, that doesn’t sound too promising. It’s pretty hard when two big celebrities (that are constantly working and have total different schedules) date, so we get it. It’s been the downfall of a lot of our other favorite Hollywood relationships. Witney then added that even she didn’t think it would last.

“It’s like The Bachelor. It never really quite works after [the show is done],” she said, adding to Alan, who seemed a little offended: “I just mean like, you guys are going on to different things! I don’t know.”

When asked if Alexis was going to come and see the show, the dancer admitted he wasn’t sure, but that he was going to “of course” invite her.

As J-14 readers know, the dance partners displayed some major PDA all throughout DWTS, after they confessed their feelings for each other halfway through the season.

“I am developing feelings for Alan. And I didn’t see this one coming. But it happened really quickly though, so I think I’m still trying to process it,” Alexis, 22, said on the show.

“I’ve never had an experience like this,” Alan told her during DWTS. “It’s so easy to just hang out with you and have fun and not worry about everything else. I know you put yourself out there last week and I do have feelings for you. And I really feel like I am falling for you.” Ugh, they were seriously the cutest!
