After a two month break, Amanda Bynes has returned to Instagram to give her fans an important update. The Amanda Show alum revealed that she is still engaged to her fiancé, Paul Michael, and that she spent the last few months in treatment. And now, the actress is focusing on her education.
“Update: Getting my Bachelor’s degree from FIDM Taking online classes, trying to get a 4.0 GPA. Looking forward to starting my online store in the future #goals,” she wrote alongside a selfie posted to Instagram on Sunday, May 24. “Spent the last 2 months in treatment. Worked on coping skills to help with my social anxiety that caused me to drop out of school months ago. Back on track and doing well! I’m now living in transitional living and doing therapy during the week. Still engaged to tha love of my life Paul Hope you’re all staying safe! Love y’all!”
As fans know, the former Nickelodeon star first announced that she was engaged to the Los Angeles student on February 14, 2020. But fans were pretty shook a few weeks later when news hit the web that the couple had decided to go their separate ways. In Touch reported at the time that Paul had confirmed the split to them exclusively via Instagram DM. But days later, he insisted that his and Amanda’s Instagram accounts were hacked, and that they didn’t call it quits after all.
“Both of our Instagrams got hacked and someone deleted our pictures and sent DMs saying we broke up,” he explained to Page Six. “We never broke up and weren’t able to log into our Instagrams until last night.”
Then, the 34-year-old seemingly announced that she was expecting her first baby on March 17, 2020, when she posted a snap of what appeared to be her ultrasound and captioned it, “Baby on board.” She later took down the post.
On May 5, 2020, the actress’ lawyer, David Esquibias, confirmed to Us Weekly that she’s not pregnant after all.
