OK, Riverdale stans. Let’s talk Varchie. Executive producer and showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa just confirmed that we all have nothing to worry about when it comes to Archie and Veronica’s relationship. You see, there was a part in the Season 3 trailer where Veronica said she and Archie are “endgame.” It was supposed to appear in Episode 1, but it was totally cut from the scene. So that had fans wondering: Are they going to break up? According to the 44-year-old producer, we don’t have to worry.

“Wait, was it removed from the episode? Oh my gosh!” he told ET Online. “Well, I think it could have been two things: One is, Veronica’s passion is clear. Two is, it could be it’s a sentiment that we echo in subsequent episodes. So it could be those two reasons – but it certainly is not because Varchie is not endgame.”

As we know (assuming you’re all caught up on the show), the pair is getting torn apart in Season 3 when Archie pleads guilty for a murder he didn’t commit. In the season premiere, we saw Archie getting shipped off to juvie – and while Veronica promised to fight for him, he doesn’t want this whole thing holding her back. But like let’s be real, Arch, she’s obviously going to seek justice for her man.

“I think both of them are really, really crazy about each other and are in love with each other and I think neither of them wants that to happen. They’re going to fight against that and they’re going to fight to stay together as hard as they can, but there are going to be certain realities that you just kind of can’t work around,” Roberto added. “So you can tell Varchie fans that they are fighting to stay together – and if the ship does go down, they will go down fighting because these two are crazy about each other and they just won’t let go of each other.”

Phew – Varchie shippers, we can all breathe a sigh of relief!
