Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson have reportedly split, acknowledging that it’s “not the right time for their relationship to take off.” The 25-year-old singer and the 24-year-old Saturday Night Live star announced their engagement in May 2018 with Ari flaunting rocking a dazzling $100,000 diamond ring not too longer after they first started dating. Not only did Pete move into the singer’s New York City apartment, but he also got multiple tattoos dedicated to Ari. And, of course, we cannot forget the fact that Ariana literally named a song off of her latest album Sweetener literally “Pete Davidson.” However, it appears they’re now going their separate ways.

“It happened this weekend,” a source told Us Weekly. “They realized it happened too quick and too early. The wedding is off, but they’re working things out. They’re not officially done yet.”

Ari has seriously gone through a lot of trauma recently. Her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller‘s death has obviously affected her greatly and back in 2017, her Manchester Arena concert was the target of a horrific attack. So this whirlwind romance was something she was clearly oh so happy about.

The two met when Ari was appearing on SNL, but it wasn’t until years later when things got romantic.

“Timing I feel like is everything and we both were in a similar situation at the same time,” Pete said on The Howard Stern Show, as they had both just gotten out of long-term relationships. “I just think some people are meant to be together and some aren’t. Even if they are good people or not, some people just aren’t good in relationships together. And I just think we’re supposed to be together.”

Ariana even dished about how Pete popped the question!

“He just asked me, it was really sweet. He didn’t get on a knee or anything, thank God. No, that would’ve been so googly,” Ari said in an interview with Zach Sang. “I’m not like a very traditional person so the fact that I’m even getting married is something I never even saw coming I never saw that coming, like I never wanted that. Then I kind of understood it once it was with the right person.”

Ariana and Pete haven’t yet made an official statement.
