Guys, Ariana Grande is completely over the impersonations of her that keep going viral on TikTok. That’s right the songstress took to Instagram Stories and in a since-deleted post, expressed her feelings on the videos, admitting that she thinks they’re “degrading.”

The drama all started after filmmaker Jordan Firstman posted a video of himself mocking those who do impressions of famous people. He explained that making a celebrity’s most well-known character into a meme, or even TikTok video, is “degrading its entire value.” Shortly thereafter, the former Victorious star seemingly caught wind of this clip and reposted it.

“OMG can this please also double as your impression of the ponytail TikTok girls who think doing that Cat Valentine voice and that wearing winged eyeliner and a sweatshirt is doing a good impersonation of me… [because] this really how it feels… ‘Degrading its entire value.’ I screamed,” she wrote before deleting the entire post off of her Instagram Stories.

Naturally, fans were quick to screenshot her comment and it started going viral on social media.

As fans know, this isn’t the first time Ariana has spoken out about people impersonating her fan-favorite Nickelodeon character. In 2019, TikTok star Paige Niemann gained some fame online for looking almost identical to the pop star. She even posted a video impersonating the “Thank U Next” songstress, which went viral and even made its way to Ariana herself. At the time, the singer called the entire situation “bizarre.”

“I just wonder why the Cat voice/dialogue,” she replied to Paige’s viral video. “I am sure she is the sweetest sweet sweetheart for real, but it’s definitely bizarre seeing people blend the two worlds.”

Paige even opened up about Ariana’s reply during an interview with Cosmopolitan from November 2019.

“I was excited but nervous to see what she had to say because I only want her to appreciate how much her fans adore her,” she explained.
