An Ode to Ariana Grande's Beloved Grandmother, Nonna Grande

Ariana Grande‘s latest single “God is a Woman” is a straight-up jam and she knew she had to bring it when it came to performing the song on TV at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards. She did just that, having a stage filled with 50 fierce AF all female dancers with her breaking out some fire choreography. And then she decided to literally give us all chills when she brought out three women who mean the most to her: her mom, Joan, her cousin Lani, and her beloved grandmother, Marjorie, known to the world affectionately as Nonna Grande.

It was a MOMENT and Nonna slayed it up on stage. Ari took to Twitter to share a squad pic featuring all the Grande women and once again, confirmed Nonna is the true star of this family.

At 92 years old, Nonna is living her most fabulous life. She’s seeing her granddaughter take over the music world which is something to be so proud about, but more importantly, she’s witnessing Ari be oh so happy. As we all know, Ariana is engaged to Pete Davidson and with the release of her new album Sweetener, she’s all about radiating light and love and sharing that with everyone around her. And yes, Nonna LOVES Pete. Just look at this ridiculously adorable pic of the pair Ari shared:

And the songstress has confirmed many times her bae gets Nonna’s seal of approval. Plus, he’s a perfect gentleman with Nonna, holding her hand as the Grande crew all headed to a VMAs afterparty.

And Ariana even retweeted the most hilarious tweet basically telling her she needs to watch her back becuase Nonna is coming her for man.

OK, so we know Nonna won’t actually try to steal Pete away, but this might just be one of the greatest tweets of all time. Nonna was happily married to her husband Frank, known to the fandom as Grandpa Grande, until he passed away in 2014. Despite losing the love of her life, she’s been by Ariana’s side through all the ups and downs and it’s easy to see how Ariana became the strong, confident woman she is today. All stemming from our girl, Nonna. Plus, she has a thing for Harry Styles, which proves she is a woman of true class, who is basically just like the rest of us.
