Ashley Tisdale‘s new era of music is finally here, and it’s what we’ve been lookin’ for! The High School Musical alum has been teasing her new song for quite some time – and it is seriously a big deal, considering the fact that the star had been on nearly a decade-long hiatus from music. Well, her track, “Voices In My Head,” is finally here. And according to Ashley, the song contains her “most vulnerable lyrics.”

The 33-year-old singer and actress has previously opened up about how she has dealt with depression and anxiety. She explained how that’s reflected in “Voices In My Head.”

“I’ve co-written every song on the album, and I also am so specific on the sound and what the album stands for, which is an upbeat album, but it has a dark undertone of anxiety and depression,” Ashley said in an interview with AOL. “I think it’s something that the world needs right now. It happened so fast and it came together so fast that I think the universe just made it happen.”

Seeing as the Disney Channel alum’s first two albums, Headstrong (2007) and Guilty Pleasure (2009), were so long ago – fans are stoked that Ash is back with a new sound. So many fans took to Twitter to share their excitement. “my neighbours better get ready because today is all voices in my head,” one fan wrote – while someone else tweeted, “The wait was worth it. I’ve been listening to the song every hour.”

And who could forget those epic “Music Sessions” she released during that hiatus? So while she hadn’t been releasing music for quite some time, she still had music running through her veins all these years.

Not only did she reunite with her on-screen brother Lucas Grabeel for a 2017 rendition of “What I’ve Been Looking For,” but she and Vanessa Hudgens also did a cover together. Legendary, really.

Keep up the singing, Ash! We’re seriously need more of it.
