Gregg Sulkin is having one heck of a start to 2017. The actor just announced via Twitter that he has been cast in Marvel's Runaways as Chase Stein. The project will air on the streaming service Hulu.

The site explains that Runaways is the story of six diverse teenagers who can barely stand each other but must unite against a common foe — their parents. Gregg's character is "a lacrosse-playing, high school heartthrob. While many write him off as a dumb jock, Chase exhibits flashes of untapped brilliance in engineering, not unlike his wildly successful father."

Gregg started teasing the big news early in the day saying, "The news is out…stay tuned," with a winky face.

"'Marvel's Runaways' finds its cast! Meet the six stars," the Marvel account tweeted with a link that gives an in-depth look at the characters.

The Faking It star then quote tweeted the announcement from Marvel saying: "SO EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THIS!"

Gregg seemed to be super excited about this new role and others shared in his excitement, including his ex-girlfriend *Bella Thorne. The actress congratulated him on his announcement saying how proud she was of him. She shared the tweet, saying, "Told you it was only a matter of time 🙂 proud of you ?? ."

Though Gregg did not reply publicly, he did give the congratulatory tweet a "like."

Bella and Gregg supported each other a lot when they were together, and encouraged one another in their acting careers. Even though they are not a couple anymore, it surely must give them a proud feeling seeing each other succeed this way. Plus, it's refreshing to see her congratulate him in such a public way.

It takes a ton of courage and love to stay friends with an ex and we are proud of Bella for being so mature!
