Bella Throne and her posse, which includes boyfriend Mod Sun and sister Dani Thorne, headed to the great state of Utah ahead of the Sundance Film Festival. Bella was attending the event to promote and support her new thriller flick, Assassination Nation. She stars in the movie alongside Suki Waterhouse, Bill Skarsgard, Joe McHale and several others. However, before the premiere, Bella was reportedly kicked out of the Park City Marriott after one of the hotel officials suspected that the crew was using illegal substances in the room.
A source told PageSix, “They were seen rushing out of the hotel hours before the premiere. There were so many bags, they needed a trail car to carry them.” Fortunately for Bella, she did make it to the premiere. But, the rest of the trip didn’t go as planned. The day after Bella was kicked out of the first hotel, she reportedly, “called in sick for most of her press interviews on Monday. She canceled everything in the morning.” There’s no telling if these two things are related, however, it’s pretty alarming considering Bella always puts her work first. And, if you were wondering, the gang did end up finding another place to stay – ironically at another Marriott.
It’s not totally surprising that this all went down, to be honest. Bella has been very open about her marijuana use because it is legal in the state of California. However, they were in Utah where the drug is still considered illegal, which is why they ran into trouble. Her boyfriend isn’t one to hide the fact he smokes the substance often either. While he has posted photos of himself smoking, he also raps about it and even has song titles warped around the culture. We have a feeling Bella, Mod and everyone else who was tagging along may not have known the laws in Utah.
Regardless of what went down with the substances they were carrying, it’s important to remember that Bella did not get in trouble with the law. There were no arrests or warnings given out by police. She was simply asked to leave the hotel. But, yes, it may not be the best look for the Famous In Love star especially since she’s got a lot of young fans who look to her as a real-life role model.
