We were all blown away by Naomi Scott‘s performance in Disney’s live-action remake of Aladdin. In case you missed it, the former Disney Channel actress played Jasmine in the new flick, and she brought our favorite princess to life perfectly. And it turns out, we’re not the only ones who thought she killed it. One of her old Lemonade Mouth costars just gushed over her, and it’s seriously bringing back all the feels.
Yep, we’re talking about Blake Michael. The actor, who starred in the Disney Channel Original Movie with Naomi, took to Instagram on Wednesday, June 5, to let everyone know just how proud of her he was.
“Who saw Aladdin? Majorly proud of this girl right here. She crushed [it]!” he wrote. “My favorite Walt Disney movie beautifully remade. No one could deny @naomigscott’s ridiculous singing voice and on-stage presence while filming Lemonade Mouth. I wish you all could have seen the cast and crew’s reaction while filming ‘She’s So Gone.’ We knew it would be a hit and Naomi completely crushed that scene at Dante’s Pizzeria… Anyhow, congrats Naomi.”
AWW. OUR HEARTS. How sweet is that? In case you forgot, Naomi played Mo in the musical dramedy, while Blake played Charlie. It also starred Bridgit Mendler, Adam Hicks and Hayley Kiyoko and was about a group of high school students who formed a band. It aired back in 2011, and there’s not a day that goes by that we don’t miss it, TBH.
But now, over seven years later, we seriously love that the stars are as close as ever and that they still have each other’s backs. And as fans know, Blake isn’t the only Disney star to fangirl over Naomi after watching Aladdin. Zombies star Milo Manheim admitted on his Instagram Stories that he was totally crushing on the 26-year-old after he saw the new flick.
