As fans know, this isn’t the only Korean star who has sadly passed away within the past year. K-pop star and television actress Goo Hara was found dead in her home by a friend on November 23, 2019, as reported by the Gangnam District Police in Seoul at the time. According to the New York Times, her death was ruled a suicide after investigators found a handwritten note in her home. Prior to that, 25-year-old K-pop star Sulli was discovered in her Seoul apartment by her manager on October 14, 2019, after he couldn’t get in contact with her. Her death was ruled as a suicide after it was reported that she was battling severe depression. The string of deaths among young Korean stars have sparked many debates over the intense pressure of stardom.
