We were all shocked and heartbroken when Cameron Boyce suddenly passed away on July 6, 2019. The Disney actor was only 20 years old at the time. Now, his former costar Sarah Jeffery has shared some tragic details on his final moments. The actress, who starred alongside Cameron in the Descendants films, was with him just two days before his devastating passing.
“We were at a friend’s house for a Fourth of July barbecue,” she told People Magazine. “It was a normal awesome day. He was so happy. We’d never see him unhappy. He had such palpable good energy. The day was normal and it was lovely. Cam was always the life of the party.”
The 23-year-old Charmed star admitted that she’s still coming to terms with the loss.
“There are days where it shatters my heart,” she said. “It’s hard to wrap your head around something like this when someone is so young but also incredibly special. It’s unfathomable. There is no one like Cam. It’s a horrible loss. But I’m so grateful to have known him for his far too short time with us.”
Cameron’s family revealed at the time that he unfortunately suffered from a medical condition called epilepsy. The entire world is mourning over his sad passing, and knowing that she’s not alone has definitely helped Sarah deal with the pain.
“Being able to be with a community that is also grieving and understands how incredible he was has been a crucial part of the healing process,” she continued. “I’ve been able to surround myself with people who knew him and we can tell stories and cry when we need to and laugh when we can.”
The third installment to the Descendants series is set to air on August 2, and will pay tribute to the late actor. RIP Cameron, you definitely won’t be forgotten.
