Camila Mendes is a woman in love, so don’t even try to question her relationship, thank you very much. The 24-year-old actress is dating her Riverdale co-star Charles Melton and after fans started to speculate they might just be more than friends, the couple both took to Instagram to confirm that yes, they are an item. But now, a fan tried to question just how happy the starlet is with her 27-year-old bae, and she totally wasn’t having it.

A fan shared a side-by-side image of Camila walking with Charles and Camila walking with her ex-boyfriend Victor Houston and in the caption wrote, “Sorry but I have to post it. Cami looked happier with Victor.” Cami saw this post and decided to leave a lengthy comment on the photo, explaining her side. Frankly, she just wasn’t happy to see this as this isn’t the case at all, so she flat-out explained what was going on in each of the two photos.

“I feel silly responding to this but I also feel the impulse to tell you that you’re wrong. I’m happier than I’ve ever been in my life. It’s absurd to me that you call yourself a fan, yet your entire page is dedicated to disrespecting my relationship and my boyfriend, both of which you clearly know nothing about,” Camila wrote.

“Charles and I were on our way to shoot a self tape, which he helped me with all day. Literally stopped everything he was doing to help me tape the perfect audition. I was running the lines in my head without even knowing there was a pap taking photos of us. Victor and I were at Comic Con, walking toward a huge line of fans, knowing there were cameras pointed at us. See the difference? I hope you’re young because that seems to be the only justification for this kind of immaturity,” she continued.

Girl is not about someone she doesn’t know telling her what the state of her relationship is, that’s for sure! And while there might be some fans who aren’t always the nicest, there are plenty of Riverdale stans who are nothing but supportive of the show and the actors. Cami even took to Twitter to let her “real fans” know she has nothing but love for them.

Defending her personal life is most likely not something the actress ever thought she would have to do, but it’s something her other co-stars like Lili Reinhart and Vanessa Morgan have done in the past too. Let’s just all get along and enjoy the TV shows these actors work so hard to give us all, shall we?
