Sorry, you guys, but Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has been canceled. Yep, after its fourth season premieres later this year, the Netflix show will officially come to an end.
“Working on Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has been an incredible honor from day one,” showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa said in a statement to TVLine. “The cast, beginning with Kiernan [Shipka] as everyone’s favorite teen witch, has been an absolute joy. I am beyond thankful to the crew, writers, editors, assistants, and everyone for pouring so much love into this dark dream of a show. I’m also grateful to our partners at Netflix, Warner Bros., Berlanti Television and Archie Comics for letting us tell the story we wanted to tell, the way we wanted to tell it. We can’t wait for everyone to see Part 4.”
The fourth and final season is set to hit screens later this year, with the outlet reporting we can expect it in “late 2020.” There’s no exact release date for it just yet, but Gavin Leatherwood did previously reveal that they had already finished filming it.
According to Netflix, here’s what will go down in Season 4: “The Eldritch Terrors will descend upon Greendale. The coven must fight each terrifying threat one-by-one (The Weird, The Returned, The Darkness to name a few), all leading up to… The Void, which is the End of All Things. As the witches wage war, with the help of The Fright Club, Nick begins to slowly earn his way back into Sabrina’s heart, but will it be too late?”
The Riverdale spinoff show first premiered back in 2018, and it quickly became a fan favorite. It also stars Lucy Davis, Miranda Otto, Luke Cook, Chance Perdomo, Ross Lynch, Jaz Sinclair, Tati Gabrielle, Lachlan Watson, Michelle Gomez and Richard Coyle. We are definitely going to be sad to see it go!
