The Cobra Kai stars may have chemistry on screen, but who are they dating in real life? Some of the Netflix stars have been in long-term romances over the years!
After two seasons on YouTube, the fan-favorite series was moved to Netflix where it gained a whole new following. Season 4 premiered via the streaming service in December 2021 and fans are anxiously waiting for the fifth season.
“There’s a lot of unlikely team-ups. Season 5 was a good experience. It was very fun getting to film with everyone,” Jacob Bertrand, who plays Hawk in the show, told Entertainment Weekly in January 2022. “That’s something that’s different about season 5, getting to be in scenes with almost everybody.”
With the whole cast together on screen, there’s the possibility of more romance to unfold. While Tanner Buchanan (Robby Keene) and Mary Mouser (Samantha LaRusso) didn’t date in real life, their characters had a fling throughout the show’s first season. A fight between Robby and Xolo Maridueña‘s character, Miguel Diaz, caused the two to ultimately break up and even though they’ve been on and off throughout the four seasons, tensions are still high between them.
“The romantic scenes are what cause me the most anxiety,” Tanner explained during a chat with Interview Magazine from September 2020. “You could talk to Mary [Mouser] about this because she and I are such good friends. When we had our first kiss scene in season two, they were asking us, ‘Are you ready?’ My heart was pounding, I was shaking. It just feels weird to go to that place, because we’re such good friends.”
They didn’t have too many kissing scenes since Robby eventually moves on from Sam with Tory — Miguel’s ex — who is played by Peyton List. The complicated love stories between these characters is the drama TV show viewers love!
“I think Robby is a good fit. I feel like they see each other more so than — I think Tory was really in love with Miguel, but the feeling was not as reciprocated or as mutual,” Peyton told Collider about her relationship in the show. “I feel like he was always kind of thinking about Sam when he was with Tory so I would probably advise her to just let that one go. Even though I think Miguel is just the best character on the show. He’s just so lovable. But yeah, I think Robby and Tory are really, really cute together.”
