From the looks of it, Cody Simpson is taking good care of Miley Cyrus! On Saturday, November 9, Us Weekly reported that the “Slide Away” singer had checked out of the hospital after undergoing vocal cord surgery — which comes just one month after she was hospitalized for tonsillitis. Thankfully, the Hannah Montana star seems to be doing well following the procedure.
Miley and Cody have been active on social media, sharing updates on their Instagram Stories. The 22-year-old Australian even seemed to address her surgery when he shared a selfie of the two captioned, “success.”
According to reports, in order for Miley to make a full recovery, she must stay on vocal rest “for several weeks while her vocal cords heal.” Cody also has plans to stay by her side at her parent’s house in Nashville during the recovery.
“Any strain will prolong the healing,” a source told People. “Cody is by her side. They are still doing well. Miley seems very happy. Cody will make sure she isn’t bored while she recovers.”
As fans know, Cody and Miley kicked off their whirlwind romance back in October after photos of them kissing during a lunch date went public. Since then, the pair can’t seem keep their hands (or their lips) off each other. Whether they’re posting pictures and videos to Instagram Stories or performing dance routines in the living room, these two are seriously the cutest couple around.
On October 4, Miley even took to Twitter defending her relationship with Cody to her fans and followers. She explained that she’s new to dating and because of her previous long term relationship with Liam Hemsworth, she never had this experience as an adult woman.
“This ‘dating’ thing is new to me too. I’ve never been an ‘adult’ / grown ass woman experiencing this,” she wrote. “I was in a committed relationship for almost all my teens and early 20s; with the exception of a few breaks…I have a great life I wouldn’t trade for ‘privacy’ but PLEASE don’t make this awkward for me! I am trying to make light and like always MAKE FUN of myself / and the public’s perception of me! Get used to me dating – this is where I am at!”
