Yikes! Mackenzie Ziegler and her mom are under fire for a pretty complicated reason. The former Dance Moms star and her mother Melissa Gisoni are facing a lawsuit, and it has to do with Mackenzie’s music career.

Mackenzie and Melissa are being brought to court by Los Angeles based music production company Kismet Music, who claims Mackenzie breached their 2014 music deal. The lawsuit states that in 2016, Mackenzie started dropping out of planned performances and began working with another music producer. Kismet Music is suing Mackenzie for 15% of her net profits.

Reports say that when Kismet tried contacting the artist a number of times, they didn’t get an answer. Yikes!

However, in an official statement released tonight, Mackenzie’s legal team said, “This is a frivolous lawsuit, which we intend to prove in a court of law. This is yet another example of a production company taking advantage of a young rising star.”

The artist’s most recent song, “Monsters,” was released in late April 2017. While she was in the studio, Mackenzie told us that the track is all about standing up against bullies, saying, “‘Monsters’ is about haters. It’s really just saying fight against them, and don’t let them get to you.”
