The entire world is mourning the tragic loss of Corey La Barrie after the beloved YouTuber was killed in a car crash on Sunday, May 10. Now, Why Don’t We‘s Daniel Seavey has opened up about how he pulled Corey out of the car after the accident and held him until paramedics arrived.

In a touching tribute, the singer spoke out about his last moments with the social media star.

“I’ll never forget pulling you out of that car. For a little bit it felt like such a curse seeing you in the condition you were in that night. But what a blessing,” he wrote. “I got to see you one last time. And I know you heard me there beside you. I know that you know I love you, and for that I’m grateful. I’m just so blessed to have known you. Thank you for everything you did for me Corey. All the ways you helped me. I’ll never forget any of it.”

I’ll never forget the night we met, where 5 minutes into our conversation you roasted me, then suggested we get breakfast the next day and then we actually did.. I’ll never forget how you could make anyone in the room laugh especially me. I’ll never forget how ready you were at all times to beat anyone up that even laid a finger on me. I’ll never forget our trip to Hawaii. I’ll never forget how much you didn’t care about what people thought of you and how much you inspired me to do the same. I’ll never forget how much you secretly wanted to be a singer and would always come to me for singing advice, you had some pipes bro. I’ll never forget how many people you introduced me to when I felt more lonely and more left out than I ever have in my life. I’ll never forget the example you showed me of loyalty and love that you endlessly and tirelessly gave to all your friends and family. I’ll never forget the light you had in you that could brighten up any situation,  any room, any person. I’ll never forget pulling you out of that car. For a little bit it felt like such a curse seeing you in the condition you were in that night. But what a blessing. I got to see you one last time. And I know you heard me there beside you. I know that you know I love you, and for that I’m grateful. I’m just so blessed to have known you. Thank you for everything you did for me Corey. All the ways you helped me. I’ll never forget any of it.

He also added on Twitter that JC Caylen and Oscar Guerra helped too.

I just want to bring it to the light that @jaysee and @oscar_guerra21 helped pull Corey out of the car. Not to speak on JC or Oscar’s behalf, but I feel it’s important to recognize them for what they did and show them some extra love right now…” he said. “Those two dudes are heroes.”

According to People Magazine, the fatal accident occurred just after 9:30 P.M. in the Valley Village area of Los Angeles, when “a 2020 McLaren 600LT was traveling eastbound on Huston Street at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control. Driver then ran off the road and collided with a stop sign and a tree on the northeast corner of Huston Street and Carpenter Avenue.” Corey was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead, the police said.

Daniel’s dad, Jeffrey, also took to Twitter to explain what happened that night. He revealed that Daniel’s brother, Chris, was also there and that he seemingly stopped the driver of the car, Ink Master‘s Daniel Silva, from fleeing the scene.

It was @Seavey_Chris who tackled the driver as he attempted to flee the scene, while his brother @SeaveyDaniel pulled Corey from the wreckage and held him, spoke comfort to him and prayed for him until the paramedics arrived. LOVE MY SONS,” he tweeted.

The driver has been arrested for murder. It’s been reported that he was intoxicated during the time of the crash.
