It’s no secret that some YouTubers make tons of money off of their channels. But there’s one influencer who doesn’t, and that’s David Dobrik! Yep, he just revealed the amount of money he gets paid per video, and it’s shockingly low.

For those who missed it, TikTok recently launched a new $1 billion grant program, which they’re going to use to start paying creators to post content, including David. And while discussing the announcement with Entertainment Tonight, he explained, “It’s really nice because I don’t make a dime on YouTube so it’s nice.”

“I don’t make any money on YouTube. I don’t get paid for the videos on my channel. They’re all demonetized and copyrighted by labels. I can tell you, my paycheck right now is under $800 which is very low to be able to produce those videos because there’s a lot of things I have to pay for,” the social media star dished. “It’s really low. It got cut after all the advertisers backed out, then they came back in but my type of videos, because I have swearing and stuff, weren’t really being paid for as much. I don’t make money on that.”

He added that the song he uses in the intro to his videos is copyrighted, so even though he only uses “two seconds” of it, he has to pay every time.

So David may not make a lot off of his videos, but some stars do. PewDiePie, who is also known as Felix Kjellberg, earned more than $13 million in 2019 alone, according to Forbes. Plus, Business Insider reported that the Swedish vlogger makes $3,319.71 per minute during his videos and that his total net worth is $25 million. Wow!

Ryan Kaji — an 8-year-old who reviews toys — was actually the highest paid YouTuber of 2019. Forbes reported that he earned $26 million that year, and get this — according to Business Insider, the young star makes more than $5,000 per minute during his videos!

Despite his channel being demonetized, David reportedly has a net worth of $7 million.
