The world is only days away from finally seeing Descendants 2 after what literally feels like forever. After promises that the movie would be hitting TV screens this summer, the core four villain kids cast along with the director Kenny Ortega took to Instagram to confirm exactly when and how you can watch the upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie. Let's break it down:

When does Descendants 2 come out?

The movie will be released on Friday, July 21 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT, which Kenny, along with Dove Cameron, Sofia Carson, Cameron Boyce and Booboo Stewart, announced together in the cutest way ever.

Where can you watch Descendants 2?

For the first time ever, the DCOM isn't just airing on Disney Channel. It will simultaneously air on ABC, Freeform, Disney XD and Lifetime, so you have five different channels to choose from. Check out the announcement video:

They're really going all out for this movie!

Where can you watch the official trailer?

The trailer everyone had been waiting for finally made it's big debut during the 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards. If you happened to miss it since it took place during the awards show's first commercial break, no worries. We've got you covered since you know, we've watched it a ridiculous amount of times since then! Check it out:

What's the plot of the movie?

As you may remember from the end of the first film, Mal, Evie, Jay and Carlos find their place at Auradon Prep, going against their villain parents' wishes and finally figuring out who they want to be. Mal and Ben are happily together, but the final scene of the movie showed that Mal still has that evil in here. She is a villain after all!

So in the second movie, the plot picks up where we first left off. Mal simply can't deal with the pressure to be royally perfect for the sake of being Ben's girlfriend, so she returns to her rotten roots on the Isle of the Lost. But she quickly discovers that her long-time rival Uma, the daughter of Ursula played by the one and only China Anne McClain has taken over. Uma is still bitter she wasn't chosen by Ben to go to Auradon, so she and her pirate crew — which includes Captain Hook's son Harry and Gaston's son Gil — are set to break the barrier between the Isle of the Lost and Auradon. This would unleash the villains from their seclusion once and for all. The VKs along with Ben head to the Isle to find Mal and try to bring her back and well, you can only guess all the action that goes down!

When does the soundtrack come out?

Naturally, the music is another stand-out part of the Descendants experience. As of right now, you can pre-order the soundtrack and you'll automatically get 'Ways to Be Wicked," the opening number from the DCOM, along with Uma's big solo number "What's My Name" and three tunes from the animated series, Descendants: Wicked World. The soundtrack is expected to drop when the movie comes out, on July 21. For now, let us enjoy the epic number that is 'What's My Name," since China, along with her co-stars Thomas Doherty and Dylan Playfair and the entire pirate crew totally slay it:

So you still have a bit to go before you hear all the new songs, including the duet between Mal and Evie everyone has been waiting for called "Space Between" and China's take on "Poor Unfortunate Souls." There's so much D2 magic coming very soon.

In fact, airing on Friday, Juy 7, an exclusive look behind-the-scenes during the filming of the movie will air on Disney Channel, between 7:30 and 8:00 p.m. ET/PT and China told us all about working with her pirate crew to prepare of their big musical number and what it was like simply on set and bonding with everyone.

"Something people might not know is we only had a few hours to go over 'What's My Name' on the actual set before filming the number! The rest of our rehearsals took place on a huge sound stage," China exclusively said to J-14. "The rehearsals were my favorite part of the entire experience. I hate sitting around chilling when I know there is serious work to be done, and we never stopped grinding until we felt completely prepared. I got so close to my pirates during that process as well, which really helped create the tight bonds you see on screen. We even got matching anchor tattoos on our day off."

They really are fam for life now! So despite the fact that they play villains, the cast really is the best of friends IRL. Simply magical.
