We’re in single digits, my friends. The wait is almost over, because there are only nine more days until the televised premiere of Disney Channel’s Descendants 2. You read that right: NINE MORE DAYS.
The core four villain kids, played by Dove Cameron, Sofia Carson, Cameron Boyce and Booboo Stewart, joined by franchise newcomers China Anne McClain and Thomas Doherty, will be taking over five different television networks simultaneously on July 21, 2017 for the highly anticipated event.
We couldn’t love this cast any more than we already do, even if we tried. The group is so close-knit and fun-loving — it’s no surprise that the actors and actresses have repeatedly referred to the cast and crew as a “family.” At the Descendants 2 premiere, J-14 chatted with your favorite stars from the movie, other classic Disney celebs, and the director himself.

The event was an unforgettable movie premiere. After being challenged by Sofia the last time we spoke with the actress, J-14‘s Liam McEwan repped some Descendants merch on the formal red carpet. Booboo and Chad Charming actor Jedidiah Goodacre (jokingly) battled it out for their own individual shots, or their moments alone in the spotlight.
Director Kenny Ortega enlightened us to what makes a hit DCOM star. And yes, we did take notes for the next time that we audition for a Disney Channel movie (because who doesn’t want to be the next Sharpay Evans?). Even High School Musical‘s Monique Coleman showed up to support her friend Kenny, who directed the franchise.
We didn’t even know this was possible, but we think we’re even more excited for Descendants 2 now than we were before hanging out with the cast.
