The drama between Katy Perry and Taylor Swift has been thrown into overdrive within the last couple of days, thanks to an angry tweet and a new single that many are speculating is about the “Shake It Off” singer.

Katy and Taylor have had quite a complicated friendship for the past couple of years, with of course ended with the two writing diss track about one another. Although neither has directly confirmed that they have inspired one another’s music, the “Chained to the Rhythm” singer may have slyly confirmed that her latest track is indeed about Taylor while appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

During the interview, host Jimmy Fallon cut straight to the chase when it came to talking about the song that features Nicki Minaj – another artist who had her fair share of drama with Taylor. He asked Katy directly if the track was about anyone they knew, obviously alluding to the feud between the two singers.

Katy quickly answered back, “I think it’s a great anthem for people to use whenever someone’s trying to hold you down or bully you.”

“Swish represents a liberation from all the negative that doesn’t serve you,” she continued to say.

Whether or not to say she’s directly referencing Taylor is hard to say, but perhaps this could all be Katy’s way of putting the final nail in this coffin and keeping all the bad blood in the past.

Though the only way to surely tell if this is the end of the drama is to wait and see what Taylor will come up with on her next album. Will she answer back with another diss track, or will the drama finally come to an end?

Only time will tell, but for now it’s safe to assume that this isn’t the final chapter in the story.
