Prepare yourselves, people, because Disney+’s Artemis Fowl film is almost here, and the streaming service finally gave fans a first look at the upcoming film! For those who missed it, back in November 2018, it was announced that the movie adaptation of the fan-favorite book series by Eoin Colfer was on its way, and now we’re gearing up for its official release on June 12.

On Tuesday, May 19, Walt Disney Studios dropped a seriously epic clip that showcased all the action fans can expect once the flick finally drops. During the short video, Artemis went looking for his missing father’s journal, using a special Irish Blessing. Although no spellbinding secrets were revealed during the minute-long clip, viewers did get an inside look into Artemis’ brain and the iconic, secret-filled Fowl Manor, which was enough to have us marking our calendars and setting alarms for release day!

Ferdia Shaw will star in his debut acting role as the film’s protagonist, Artemis Fowl. According to Disney, the film will follow “12-year-old genius Artemis Fowl, a descendant of a long line of criminal masterminds, as he desperately tries to save his father who has been kidnapped. In order to pay his ransom, Artemis must infiltrate an ancient, underground civilization—the amazingly advanced world of fairies—and bring the kidnapper the Aculos, the fairies’ most powerful and coveted magical device. To locate the elusive object, cunning Artemis concocts a dangerous plan—so dangerous that he ultimately finds himself in a perilous war of wits with the all-powerful fairies.”

Along with the 15-year-old Irish actor, the film also stars some pretty big names like Lara McDonnell, Josh Gad, Tamara Smart, Nonso Anozie, Josh McGuire, Nikesh Patel and Adrian Scarborough, with Colin Farrell and Judi Dench. With a star-studded cast like that, there’s no doubt that this movie is about to be our new favorite.
