Dove Cameron wants the world to know that no, she is not a cheater. Rumors started swirling when the actress shared a photo of herself kissing her Clueless: The Musical co-star, Justin Mortelliti. Not only did fans attack the Disney Channel alum for seemingly cheating on her current bae Thomas Doherty, but others claimed that she previously cheated on her former fiancé Ryan McCartan too. The actress took to social media to shut down these rumors once and for all.
Don’t worry guys, it turns out, she and Justin are just friends. “Cher & Christian, original OTP,” she captioned the pic of them sharing a peck at the premiere for the new show. “I hate that I have to say this but I’m still dating Thomas you guys. This is my friend who is playing Christian to my Cher in Clueless who is ALSO taken by a [very] handsome man who I could never compete [with]. Chill. Also everyone should learn to kiss their friends [without] it being romantic, it will only affect your life positively.”
Phew, that’s a total relief. But that didn’t stop fans from totally freaking out over the pic. The actress’ followers quickly started to tag Thomas to make sure he saw it, but Dove was not a fan of all the unnecessary drama. “WHERE IS THOMAS?” one fan wrote, tagging him. “You have to see this.”
Dove replied to the comment, and she didn’t hold back on the sass. She herself tagged her boyfriend and wrote, “You have to see this.”
One fan even brought up her past relationship with Ryan, who as J-14 readers know, starred alongside Dove in Liv and Maddie, where he played Diggy. “You also cheated on Diggy for Thomas and claimed he was the bad guy,” the fan wrote. Wow talk about no chill. Dove and the actor were engaged to be married back in 2016, before things ended abruptly in October 2016 when Ryan tweeted that the relationship “isn’t what [Dove] wants.”

No one knows the real reason for their breakup, but the 22-year-old has hinted through tons of Instagram and Twitter shade that Ryan didn’t treat her that great, and that she wasn’t happy in the relationship. Some fans believe though, that she left Ryan for Thomas, who she met on the set of Descendants 2 around the same time.
Dove wants to clear it all up once and for all. “I feel like I should do a full blown interview clarifying all of the things that you’ve inaccurately assumed,” she replied to the fan. Um, we are so here for this!
Regardless of what happened between her and Ryan, Dove and Thomas are still going strong — and the Instagram post was definitely just a joke. Especially considering that Thomas was spotted cheering his girl on during the musical, and it couldn’t have been cuter.
