It’s no secret Dylan and Cole Sprouse have been acting together for years. Well, since they were eight months to be exact. And while they starred in movies and two beloved Disney Channel series together, there’s most likely a 99.9 percent chance they’ll never act alongside each other again. But there is one memory Dyl has with his brother that he won’t ever forget and it’s basically all about their cringiest audition experience together. For The Cat in the Hat, no less.

“My brother and I, when Cat In the Hat was being released — this makes me cringe even now — when Cat In the Hat was auditioning, of course, they were like call every single person who looks alike in to be Thing 1 and Thing 2,” Dylan explained to Young Hollywood. “So we went in and went full force and I remember, we walked into a room and they just said, ‘Go crazy.’ And so my brother and I being probably 8 or 9 years old, just started fist fighting. Like we straight up beat the tar out of each other, it was bad. And obviously they cut it off and were like you can’t do that, but that’s what we knew as ‘go crazy.’ So that was cringey.”

Umm, STOP IT RIGHT NOW. Can you even imagine the lil Sprouse twins just pouncing on each other when they’re supposed to be pretending to be Dr. Seuss characters? The roles of Thing 1 and Thing 2 in the 2003 movie ended up being played by four actors, with Danielle Chuchran and Taylor Rice as Thing 1 and Brittany Oaks and Talia-Lynn Prairie as Thing 2.

Nowadays, the 26-year-old Sprouse twins are busy with their separate careers, with Cole keeping busy thanks to his lead role of Jughead on Riverdale and Dylan starring in movies like Banana Split and Dismissed, along with his meadery business. So yeah, no real shot of them ever co-starring together again, but at least we have this story of how they once got into a brawl for the most hilarious reason. These brothers are nothing but supportive of each other, so it’s nice to know they really do have each other’s backs, no matter what. And won’t ever, you know, just get into a fist fight.
