Just days before filming the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, model Gigi Hadid has announced that she will no longer be walking the iconic runway. In a somber message on Twitter, the 22-year-old shared the sad news with her followers.

"I’m so bummed I won’t be able to make it to China this year," she wrote. "Love my VS family, and will be with all my girls in spirit!! Can't wait to tune in with everyone to see the beautiful show I know it will be, and already can't wait for next year!" Gigi did not give any specific reasons for dropping out at the last minute, but it seems she was pressured to skip the Shanghai show after an offensive video of her resurfaced.

In the short clip, the blonde beauty can be seen squinting her eyes to imitate Buddha sparking outrage among her Asian and non-Asian fans. "It’s what you deserved after that offensive video, and your white a– couldn’t even publicly apologize. We got Bella, we’re good sis," before another added, "Reporting Gigi Hadid to Chinese Authority to fight against Racist. We do not need a fake apology for one who just wanna earn money in Asia."

This isn't the first time Gigi has come under fire when it comes to the runway show. Last year, viewers were angry the model was wearing wings on
the runway— before being given the official title of Angel. "Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid do not deserve wings. What a mess."

Gigi won't be the only Angel who won't be making it to China. Four other models were denied visas to the country, including Dasha Khlystun and Irina Sharipova. Earlier this year, Gigi was genuinely excited to be returning to the VS Fashion Show alongside her sister Bella Hadid. "Forever and ever and ever a dream come true to be asked back to the VS Show," she wrote. "Every aspect makes me feel like a dreaming kid again."
