The holiday season is here, thanks to Run the World! Fresh off the release of their self-titled debut album — which officially hit music streaming services on November 20 — the girl group caught up with J-14 and spilled some major tea on the decision to include holiday songs on the record. Along with a bunch of original tracks, members Hayley LeBlanc, Jessalyn Grace, Kheris Rogers, and Corinne Joy also put their own spin on “Last Christmas” and “All I Want for Christmas.”

“We decided to include holiday tracks on our debut album since the album would be coming out around holiday season. So our fans can enjoy new songs from us, along with holiday tracks to listen to with their family!” Jessalyn told J-14 exclusively. Corinne added, “We wanted you to enjoy our music year-round, and have holiday music to share with your friends!”

According to Hayley, these holiday songs will “cheer people up” amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Along with giving fans some major details on what it was like to record two classic Christmas tunes, the girls also shared their holiday traditions and revealed the weirdest gift they’ve ever received. Scroll through our gallery to check out our exclusive interview with Run the World.
