Everyone is mourning the loss of Glee star Jane Galloway Heitz. The actress, who played the role of Lillian Adler in the Fox musical drama, unfortunately passed away of congestive heart failure in an Illinois hospital last week. Her daughter Amie Richardson confirmed the heartbreaking news to The Hollywood Reporter on Thursday, November 21. She was 78 years old at the time of her tragic death.

For those who forgot, Lillian was the former glee club director before Mr. Schuester took over. She was also Mr. Schu’s choir director back when he was in high school! Besides starring in Glee, the late actress also appeared in The Big Bang Theory, Blood Shot, Save Me, Legit, Shameless, Circling the Drain, Hawthorne, CSI, The Cleaner, Miss Guided, Moonlight, Monk, Side Order of Life, Code Blue, I Know Who Killed Me, Without a Trace, Prison Break, Grey’s Anatomy, ER, Asylum, Normal, Just Visiting, Madison, Early Edition, The Straight Story, Welcome to the Max and more.

In addition to acting, Jane also launched her own casting agency, which helped launch the career of numerous stars over the years, including Stephen Colbert and Steve Carell. She definitely accomplished a lot throughout her life, and she will certainly be missed.

As fans know, Jane isn’t the only Glee star to tragically pass away since the show premiered in May 2009. Back in July 2013, Cory Monteith, who played Finn Hudson in the show, died from an overdose. He was only 31 when he passed away, and the entire world was devastated over the loss.

Mark Salling, who portrayed Noah “Puck” Puckerman, took his own life in January 2018. Just days before his sad passing, the actor had pleaded guilty to child pornography charges and was facing four to seven years in prison.

RIP Jane!
