On Thursday, December 5, the internet pretty much lost it after Harry Styles showed off the album artwork for his sophomore album Fine Line. Why? Well, because the One Direction member stripped down and posed in the nude for a poster that’s available with the vinyl set of the album. The 25-year-old recently sat down with talk show host Ellen DeGeneres and opened up about his decision to bare it all.

“I did the photos for the album with a British photographer called Tim Walker who I’m a really big fan of,” he explained on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Tuesday, December 17. “I’ve never really done a shoot like this and it was kind of like, ‘This shirt’s not really working, so let’s try it without the shirt.’ And then it’s like, ‘Those trousers aren’t really working, so let’s try it without the trousers.’ And then…I’m naked.”

Ellen then asked Harry if his new album was inspired by a breakup that the singer experienced. For those who don’t know, fans have speculated that some songs on Fine Line are about French model Camille Rowe who Harry dated from September 2017 until they split in July 2018.

The “Sign Of The Times” singer answered her question by opening up about his songwriting process.

“I definitely write from personal experience; I think a lot of people do,” he told the host. “If you want your songs to be honest and connect with people, it’s usually from writing honestly. It’s definitely about what I was going through at the time, and that’s both good and bad. The thing with this album, for me, was while I was making it, the times when I was sad were probably the saddest times in my life, but at the same time, the times when I was happy were some of the best times I’ve ever had in my life. So, it’s both. It’s a fine line!”
