Are Liam Payne and Maya Henry over? Fans are worried about the couple after sources told The Sun that the two stars have called it quits after six months together.
“Things between Liam and Maya had been rocky recently and they eventually decided to call it a day,” an insider told them. “He was extremely busy at the end of last year and when he eventually stopped, they were both able to re-evaluate exactly what they want. They decided to go their separate ways but he isn’t moping and wants to put it behind him. He has been telling people he is single and is looking to the future.”
But according to Daily Mail, they haven’t split after all! A source told the outlet, “Maya and Liam are definitely still a couple and are very happy together. Both been taking time off social media lately and enjoying each other’s company away from the spotlight.”
For those who missed it, the former One Direction member and the model were first spotted together in August 2018, but it wasn’t until they were photographed holding hands in September 2019 that rumors started to swirl that they were in a relationship.
“Liam and Maya have been together for several months now. He is besotted and they get on very well,” an insider told The Sun at the time. “He wanted to wait before they started going public.”
After that, they were pretty much inseparable — constantly posting adorable photos together, gushing over each other in interviews and packing on the PDA all over the world!
“We’re fairly happy at the moment,” Liam told Capital FM in September 2019. “I’m just past the point of where I’m bothered or not. It’s not worth my happiness. I’d just rather go out and do what I want. I’ve got nothing to hide.”
The singer also gushed over the 19-year-old to KISS FM UK.
“She is really great. I’m very happy right now,” he said. “She’s so relaxed that it helps me relax in a situation, rather than being somewhere, and talk about who is watching and what’s going on. People are going to watch whatever. What am I supposed to do? I can’t do anything about it now. It’s too late for that. It’s just been quite nice and just going out. I’ve managed to explore a lot more of London than I ever have actually my life, which has been quite fun. My life has been quite normal recently, which has been a break.”
