J-14 is scouting out the hottest bands around… and this week's pick is Union J!

Here are five things you need to know about Union J who are currently finalists on The X Factor UK!

  1. Boy-band Union J consists of the formerly rejected group trio Triple J's 24-year-old Jamie 'JJ' Hamblett, 23-year-old Jaymi Hensley, and 20-year-old Josh Cuthbert and previous soloist 19-year-old George Shelley.

  2. When George was added to the trio they changed their name to Union J. "We already feel like brothers, he is like the missing puzzle piece and we just feel he has made us ten times stronger than we ever were or ever could have been as a three," Jaymi says.

  3. Jaymi and Josh initially formed the trio band after attending the Sylvia Young Theatre School. They auditioned previous years for The X Factor and were rejected.

  4. Already the group has found themselves being compared to One Direction. "It's quite a statement to say we're like One Direction!" Josh says. "They are so huge, and doing so well. To have half their success, that would be amazing." They already have the support from Louis Tomlinson who tweeted: "Yeyyyyy I really like Union J !!"

  5. Their first performances together as a group were Alphaville's "Forever Young" and Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" at The X Factor Judges House.
